Home Page

The home page is the most important page of a website. It is the one page that all your visitors will view. Here you will post upcoming events, news, and feature articles. You have the opportunity to embed videos, slide shows, surveys, graphics, donation buttons, and more. We also include a view into the latest message discussions, a photo gallery, visitor map, site navigation and more.

View a listing of members by category of registration (class year, campus, etc.). Through the directory your members can catch up on one another, contact other members, and view the last time a member updated his/her profile.

Member Profiles

Each member has their own profile (either created upon login, or uploaded from your list), and fields such as name, e-mail, password, mailing address, phone numbers, employer, occupation, school activities, etc. are collected. You can even have us program custom fields that are applicable only to your organization.

Looking for that one person but not sure from what class? Not a problem. Your members can use the search feature to find others by first name, last name, location, zip code, occupation and more.

Message Boards

The message boards are the perfect way for every class to stay connected. Members are able to share upcoming reunions and events, ask questions, share stories of the past, post a job, and more. The possibilities are endless for your membership to engage in online discussions.

In Memoriam / Lost & Missing

Wish to pay respect to a lost friend or love from school? Perhaps you are looking for someone? Our Lost/Missing Directory lists name of those people not yet active on the community, while the In Memoriam Listing gives you a place to remember those that have passed on.

Site Maintenance & Administration

This is where you take control. From updating content and modifying user profiles, to creating new discussion forums and sending out e-mail blasts, the administrative functions let you easily manage your online community. You can even promote members to administrators to give you a hand in managing the site.

Reports, Statistics and Exports

As an administrator, you'll have access to membership reports which you can export to popular file formats, as well as reports on the number of visits and registrations per day, and the most, and least, frequent visitors to the website. Use this data to gauge the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns, assist in reunion planning, and find the most active people to become volunteers.

Email Blasts

Sending out an email blast has never been so easy. With a pre-made layout designed to match your site, all you have to do is select which group(s) / class(es) you would like to receive your message, then type your own text. The e-mail tool also allows sending of e-mail blasts to the entire community as well. The editor is fully HTML compliant and allows you to embed graphics, donation buttons and more into your blasts. There is no limit on the number of e-mail blasts you can send per month.

File Managers & Document Library

Adding new pictures, documents, PDFs, etc. is a snap with our file management utilities. Have some reunion photos? Share them on your home page by simply browsing your photographs and selecting the ones you wish to upload! Or post a PDF form to allow members to register to an upcoming event.

A special area of the file management sytem is the 'Document Library' which allows you to easily organize and upload your PDF documents (forms, newsletters, manuals, annual reports, etc.) into folders that can be browsed by your members.

Social Network Integration

Facebook, Twitter and other social networking tools are all the buzz today. They are now part of our modern culture. Share your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, and blog sites with buttons right on your home page, and in your e-mail blasts. Your members can even embed their own social networking sites into their personal profile.

Using code from Facebook and Twitter you can even display your posts, pictures and tweets right on your Alumni Channel site.

Online Payments & Donations

Embed or connect an online payment system right into your Alumni Channel portal to accept donations, sell tickets and merchandise, and more. Create buttons and forms with your existing payment vendor, or sign up with one of our trusted affiliates to accept payments online.

Payment & Donation Tracking

The donation tracking feature allows site administrators to input donation records right from an individual member profile. Each donation record has the capability to store “Donation Date”, “Amount”, “Reason” (could be used for campaign name, perhaps), “Acknowledgement Date”, and “Notes”. Report and query capabilities also exist.

We quickly, and economically, build your site using a common platform. The colors, logos, and photos will be customized for your organization. Optionally, we can set a different HTML header, or layout, for the site. See examples of custom headers and layouts from our current customers.

Additional options (with one-time set up fees) include a custom site header, a top navigation menu, and a data import with special fields.

Support and Training

The best thing about your alumni website is the support. Have a question? Does one of your members have a question? Simply e-mail us, and you will get an answer as fast as possible, from adding a new feature to assistance with uploading large files. Alumni Channel is always here to help solve any situation you may face.
